Trophy Club Splash Park!

After Isaac woke up from his nap last Saturday, we packed a picnic supper & headed to the Trophy Club Splash Park. It was so fun to be there in the evening! We splashed and swam until they closed, and then we went out for ice cream. :) We love summer and fun family nights like this!

Emma--4 Months

This is going by WAY too fast! :)

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this past month....
snuggling on Mommy & Daddy's bed while Mommy folds laundry  :)

This is a little fuzzy, but one morning I couldn't find Isaac anywhere.
Finally, I found him...laying next to Emma in her crib.  He just adores her!!

Starting to sit in the Bumbo!
Sweet girl!  We love you, Emma Victoria!!

Father's Day~2012

It's a week past Father's Day, and I am finallly putting pictures up!
Here are a few moments from Father's Day 2012.

I am so thankful that God gave these precious children to this father!
I interviewed Isaac for Father's Day.
My favorite answer is to the question, "What does Daddy like to do with Mommy?" :)

Reading "All about Daddy" after church and lunch

Swimming with Daddy and Papa on Father's Day evening!
"Hands down, you're the best papa ever!"
I found this gift idea for Isaac and Emma's Papas here. My first one was done in a rush since I was trying to send it back to "Colorado Papa" with Nana when she came last week. This is a picture of the second one, which turned out better--probably because I wasn't Modge Podging it together at 11pm. :-)

Speaking of Papas, we are also thankful for the amazing Papas who love our children, too.
"Papa Kal" with Isaac and Emma on Father's Day
"Colorado Papa" with Isaac on our last trip to Colorado.  Isaac can't wait to see him again next month!
And, just because it makes me laugh, a picture of these three from a few months ago all in their hooded sweatshirts!  :)

Thank you, Jesus, for the amazing fathers you have put in our lives!
David and I are also thankful for the gift Isaac and Emma's birthfathers both gave us when they willingly signed to allow their children in our family...from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

A Visit from Nana

Last Sunday, Dave's mom texted and asked us if it was ok if she came for a visit later that week.  Ok?!? Of course we said it was ok--we were thrilled!! :)
Here are a few pictures from our fun time together!

Reading books together--Nana makes the best sound effects! :)

Helping Nana bake a cake for our 9th anniversary!
Isaac loves to taste-test.  :)  He told me, "I help Nana--I lick, lick, lick!"

On Friday, we drove over to Dallas and went to the Dallas Children's Aquarium.
Visiting the baby penguins

Isaac insisted that this alligator was actually a dinosaur.  :)

In the back of the aquarium, they had a two displays.  One was a large tank with several sharks in it, and the other was a touching pond with stingrays.  I don't have any pictures of Isaac touching the stingrays, but it was definitely his favorite part!  One of the stingrays "nibbled" Isaac, and he said, "Mommy, he kissed me.  That was so kind of him to kiss me."  :)

Thank you for coming to Texas to visit us, Nana!
We love you!

The Big Beams!

Two weeks ago, David was operating the crane to set bridge beams at a jobsite in southern Oklahoma.  Isaac and I have visited David at a few jobsites in the past, but we've never had a chance to watch him set beams.  This was something on our Summer Bucket List, and since it wasn't too far of a drive, I decided to make a day of it!  Thankfully, my mom came along to keep Emma company while Isaac and I watched the action.

My Uncle Kym took this picture of Isaac and I as we watched them set the first beam--it's far away, but we were at the top of a hill where we could see everything happen below us.
We saw the beam truck drive in with the beam.  Then, the cranes lifted the beam off the truck and swung it up into position, and then the guys on top positioned in onto the caps.  Overall, it took about a half hour, and Isaac didn't move out of my arms the whole time.  It was definitely captivating for him!
David operating the crane
Isaac kept saying, "My daddy drive the big crane to set the big beams to build a big bridge."
I know there were many other people involved, but to Isaac it was all about his daddy. :)
Can you see Papa (my dad) operating the other crane?
Exploring around the job...
Standing in the excavator bucket--Isaac kept saying, "It not scoop me up, Mommy"

Climbing rocks "like a mountain goat, Mommy"
I was wearing Emma in the Moby wrap while watching Isaac as he climbed the rocks and threw dirt clods.  :)  One of the truck drivers saw us and said to me, "Wow ma'am, you've just got a slew of kids."
I laughed so hard!  For a mama that dreams of having a "slew" of kids, his comment warmed my heart and reminded me again how thankful I am for my slew of two.  :)

Then, the crew took a break and Daddy (& Papa--though I don't have any pictures of him) came to see us!
Isaac used to say that Daddy drove the "do-do" at work.  But, ever since we saw the beams set, Isaac talks on and on about how Daddy drives the big crane.  :)  This little guy loves his daddy!!
