A REAL White Christmas
It's about time I (Dave) wrote something for our blog. So as Bethany and I just arrived in my hometown of Steamboat Springs, CO, I think I will write on the joys of a REAL white Christmas. I only wish I had a picture or two to enhance the post, but I guess I'll have to be extra descriptive. As I write, I can glance out of the study window at my favorite kind of snow. Big, white, fluffy flakes float to the ground at a leisurely pace. This isn't the wet, heavy snow of the Midwest, or the once-a-year ice pellet pelting of Texas that everyone down there hopes for and calls snow (?!?!), but the dry "champagne powder" that every snow sport enthusiast only dreams of. Children flop down in it to make snow angels and a powdery puff exhales as the snow is displaced. It blankets the ground, trees and rooftops in a thick, cozy coat of white that can make any hovel postcard-quality! So from our white Christmas to yours, we wish you a MERRY Christmas, and hope that someday you all can experience a WHITE Christmas! (especially our TX friends!)
