Isaac: 10 Months

Highlights of this past month:

Crawling!  Isaac started crawling (at least more than one pace) on Monday, July 17, just a few days after his 9 month birthday.  My cousin Anna, Dave, & I were all watching Isaac on the family room floor when he first crawled several paces!  It was so special that all of us were there to watch him.  I have to confess that, when he was first crawling, I often baited him with graham crackers to get him to crawl faster/further.  But now, we don't need to encourage him at all....actually, we're chasing him! 

Pulling up on everything and walking while holding onto furniture (cruising).  Isaac's favorite places to pull up are the washing machine & the bathtub.  He loves to walk back & forth along our bathroom cabinets & bathtub while I'm getting ready in the morning. 

First word.....DUCK!  While I was at the hospital visiting my grandpa early Saturday morning, Dave left me a very excited voicemail saying that Isaac had said "duck" several times while Dave was changing his pants.  (He has a small yellow duck that he usually plays with while laying on the changing table.)  We're not quite sure that he knows that his toy duck is the object that he's calling "duck"...but, nonetheless, he has said it several more times since Saturday morning.  He often babbles "mamamamama" and "dadadadada," but he has never said either one of those with just 2 syllables...so we are counting "duck" as his first word. 

Two more new teeth...making for a total of 5, which he seems to always be grinding together.

Going underwater in the pool, taking his first tube ride, and also going down his first water slide with Daddy at the Keller Pointe!  Isaac loves the water! 

Spending LOTS and LOTS of great time with Anna!  My cousin Anna has been staying with us for the last month, and we are going to miss her so much when she heads back home to Minnesota.  We've had a blast playing with Isaac, watching him crawl, going to Sonic, painting a bathroom, watching "Parenthood" epsidodes, and spending lots of time in the pool. 

New favorite foods:  toast, graham crackers, black beans, & watermelon

Happy 10 Month Birthday, Isaac!  I can't believe we'll be celebrating your FIRST BIRTHDAY in just 2 short months!
