I cannot believe it's February 3 and that I'm just now posting photos from our Colorado Christmas! Our Christmas in Colorado was storybook perfect…snow, sledding, reading, hot chocolate, and playing. We loved it!
We left after church on Sunday, December 22 and drove straight through to Steamboat. We borrowed a forward-facing carseat for Emma. She loved sitting by her brother!
thumbs-up and holding hands…so sweet!
having Uncle Mike with us on the drive to Steamboat made the 15 hours more fun!
The kids fell asleep in West Texas and didn't wake up the next morning until we were headed down Rabbit Ears Pass into Steamboat!
We arrived in Steamboat just in time for breakfast on Monday morning. After breakfast, Emma took a morning nap, & the boys headed outside.
Look at all this wonderful snow! Isaac just couldn't get enough of it!

(This picture is from last Christmas--Emma still fit in her same Christmas dress!)
Isaac's feet made holes in both feet of his reindeer pajamas over Christmas, so I'm pretty sure this is the last picture in their matching reindeer pajamas. :)
Christmas Morning!
Isaac and Emma's favorite stocking stuffer was their snowflake lollipops. Emma licked on hers for days!

Opening Presents
Isn't this little mixer the cutest thing ever?!?
Isaac had seen this "armor of God" set in a magazine Nana showed him at his birthday last fall. He kept saying over and over that the "knight set" was what he wanted for Christmas. On Christmas morning, this was the last package Isaac opened. As soon as Isaac realized what it was, he threw the box as far as he could and yelled, "This is all I've ever wanted!" That is definitely one of my favorite Christmas memories!
One morning, the guys went on errands, so Emma and I had girl time. I painted her toes for the first time! When I was finished, she kept saying "toes! toes! toes!"
Our gift to Tim & Susie was a sleigh ride dinner at Saddleback Ranch in Steamboat. The sleigh ride was so cold, but we stayed pretty warm and looked at the gorgeous stars as we rode to the lodge.
After dinner in the lodge, a cowboy demonstrated how to rope cattle. Isaac received a child's digital camera from Grandma Debbie for Christmas, and he started taking pictures of the cowboy during his demonstration. I was laughing at how Isaac was photographing the cowboy and grabbed my own camera to take a picture of Isaac taking a picture. :) Isaac must've heard me, because he turned around and said, "I've got this one, Mom." :)
Then, the cowboy let people in the audience try roping. Isaac jumped up right away! As soon as Isaac's rope hit the "cattle," he pulled back just like he saw at the rodeo! He kept pulling back on the rope until he backed straight into the wall! Everyone was laughing so hard, and my father-in-law yelled, "That's my grandson!" :)

tubing at the big hill by Papa and Nana's :)
Emma absolutely LOVED tubing! One morning, we each sat on a sled/tube and made a four-person chain down the hill. I was at the very back and ended up face-first in a snowbank, but it was so, so fun. At the bottom of the hill, Emma rolled off her tube and said "more, more!"
Another morning, my father-in-law found fox tracks on the back deck. Isaac and I put our snow gear on and went to "follow" the fox tracks. After that morning, Isaac asked over and over about where the fox was, what he ate, where he slept, etc. :)

Oh, these pictures make me want to go back right now.
Thank you, Papa and Nana, for such a wonderful Christmas. We love you!
Your family is adorable!!
