July 2017

Now that it's September 5, July seems so long ago!
Fourth of July weekend!
In our family Sunday School class, each family created a flag to represent their family.  Isaac shared our family's flag with the class.  Each family member had their own stripe with their favorite color.  I was proud of him for sharing our flag in front of the whole class!

I love these sweet matching American smocked outfits on Emma and Josiah!  I took Emma's picture after church, and she said, "I think there's a snake!"  She smiled quickly for the second picture and was out of there!

I just can't have too many pictures of them!?!

A typical summer lunch at our house on days we weren't t the pool....I had to laugh how everyone has something to read, just like their mom! :)

We all had so much fun on the new slide at my parent's pool this summer!  A new challenge was to shoot the basketball while sliding down...and only one person has made it--me!

One funny memory of the slide is that Josiah climbed up to the top to slide down.  Nobody could see that Dave was shadowing him from behind.  All of a sudden, my mom jumped up and screamed, "Josiah's at the top alone!"  Dave popped out from behind the slide, ha!  It took awhile for Mom-o's heart rate to go back to normal. :)

We swam at my parent's on the Fourth of July and then saw fireworks at Trophy Club!  It was a great night and completely wore out Emma!
fun with homemade play dough

Isaac had some very exciting swim meets this summer!  He earned first place for 7 year old backstroke at All-Region.  It was an awesome meet!
Isaac was so excited to receive his medals and ribbons at practice a few days later from the All-Region meet.

Josiah wanted to be like Emma and Isaac and wear goggles at the pool, no matter how much water filled up the lenses. :)

We spent a lot of summer days at our Heritage pool!
Mornings at the pool usually always led to long nap times!

We also started working on potty training, which is always better with a construction hat and Thomas trains.

We had a fun morning at Paradise Pond, too!

We had an awesome week at VBS at Countryside!  It was a great opportunity for the kids and me to jump in and get involved.  I served in Emma's kindergarten class, and it was so special for me to have that time with her.  Emma especially loved craft time each day.  We got to see Isaac's class throughout the mornings, also.  Both of my kids loved when they got to be the leaders and carry the class flag!

Josiah was in a 2 year old class and learned right along with the older kids.  By the end of the week, he could perfectly recite Philippians 2:8 along with Emma.  "Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."  And Josiah still asks to sing "H.E.R.O." all the time, too, which was the theme song for the week!

On July 23, the new worship center at Countryside opened!  There was a huge dedication service in between the two regular service times.
