VBS week 2023 ~ Upward Bound

It was such a privilege to shepherd with Jeri!

We taught a first grade classroom.  A special blessing for me from the Lord was having several of my Shouts of Joy choir students, especially JJ!

Assembly - always a highlight of the day!

This was Emma's last year of VBS!  

She loved being a part of the "S'mores Squad" with all the 5th grade girls!

Isaac was at middle school camp all week.  They stayed nearby at a Trophy Club hotel and did fun activities around town for camp.  On evening during VBS week, we hosted Isaac's small group for a swim party!  It was fun having his friends over to swim, and we were happy to see him!

Afternooons during VBS week were quiet and filled with drawing and naps!

Friday Night Family Night

It was so exciting for Josiah to receive the character award during Friday Night Family Night!

 Character:  The winner of this award displayed the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control) toward fellow students, their teachers, leaders, and shepherds.   They consistently had a high character throughout VBS, no matter the activity.

One of his teachers wrote, "Josiah noticed another student wasn't having the best day so he gave up his spot as the flag holder to this kid just to cheer him up.  He's also very polite."

Praise the Lord for an amazing week of VBS!
