Emma Victoria: 15 Months

This little cutie turned 15 months last week!

At her last appointment, Emma was 17 pounds, 4 ounces.  She was close to 18 pounds a few weeks before that.  But, Emma, Isaac and I then all had hand/foot/mouth disease (yes, it's as terrible as it sounds), and she dropped back down closer to 17 pounds.  Even so, Emma is a great eater.  Breakfast is her best meal, and she still seems to like pancakes, crackers, and bread the most.  We've had a lot of strawberries lately, too, and I can't seem to cut them as fast as she wants to eat them.  Because of her ecxema, we've taken Emma off of milk completely.  She mostly drinks coconut/almond milk and some kefir now.

Emma is such a delight!  It is so much fun seeing her personality emerge.  She loves to giggle--especially at Isaac!  And, he is getting quite a repertoire of "funny faces" that make her laugh.  It is also so fun to see Isaac and Emma interact and play together more and more.
Emma loves to play outside.  She even holds her own in the rock box.  Dave sent me this picture of Emma on a digger a few weeks ago while I was gone.  :)

Emma is a climber!  I've found her in a dresser drawer and on top of the kid's picnic table.  She climbs to the top of her birthday slide so fast!  And once she gets to the top of the slide, she loves to stand, shout, and point.  :)  Why slide down when you can stay up so high?

Emma also loves playing in Isaac's room--she even climbs up the ladder and onto the top bunk.
Emma also likes playing with all the cars on Isaac's racetrack.  One of her favorite activities is "out and in"--pulling objects out of their container and then putting them all back.   Isaac doesn't mind if she pulls all the cars out as long as he can have his favorite race car (which seems to change daily). :)

Emma learned to bow her head and fold her hands to pray before meals.  Of course, the second she did so I took a picture.  I think this is the sweetest!  However, if the prayer goes on too long, she is done with folding her hands and starts to clap.  :)

Emma has started to imitate what she sees others doing.  Isaac put on a pair of adult shoes and walked around the house.  A little while later, we saw Emma trying to put Uncle Caleb's shoes on!  She also likes to stir with a spoon in a bowl and also combs her hair with a comb or hair brush.

Emma has also started signing "please"--in this picture, she is just signing with one hand.  But, when she's very excited she uses both hands.  :)
Emma babbles "mama mama mama" when she is sad or tired.  We've also heard her say "ah on" (all done), "boo" (book), and "Bubba" (brother, for Isaac) occasionally.

A few more pictures of our favorite girl from this month....
all dressed up for the last day of Bible Study Fellowship last week

This is probably one of my favorite pictures ever!  I came home late one evening and couldn't find Dave anywhere...I finally found him fast asleep and snuggled up with Emma in her room.

We love this smiley girl so much!  Happy 15 Months, Emma Victoria!
