Josiah Dodge: 16 months

Josiah Dodge~16 months old
July 11, 2016

At this point, Josiah sleeps about 11-12 hours each night and naps each afternoon for 2-3 hours.  He is such a good sleeper now!  It's so sweet when he lays down and says "bye-bye"as I walk out of the room.  Unless he's teething or his ears are hurting, he rarely cries when I lay him down to sleep.  When he wakes up in the morning, he babbles to himself and "talks" with Isaac.  If Isaac's not already out of bed when I get Josiah up, Josiah instantly wants to crawl on top of Isaac and start wrestling him.

Josiah says: Mama, Dā-Dā, Mae-Mae (Emma), I-ē, I-ac (both for Isaac), Mom-o, Op (Pop, my dad),  nah-nah/ba-nah-nah (both for banana), a-en (amen), ah on (all done), wa-wa (water), nah-nah (nurse), pān/ān (plane--he loves airplanes and will stop nursing/eating/playing to point to the window whenever he hears an airplane), eat, hot (he says "hot" whenever I open the oven or when we go outside), please, yīt (light), dino, buh-bye, book (Josiah will sit on the couch with a stack of board books and "read" them for easily half an hour), no, mine, mō (more), bah (ball), wah-eh-on (watermelon--he loves watermelon and can easily eat as much as Isaac & Emma), ī-crēm (ice cream), bonk (he loves to hit his head and then say, "bonk" and giggle!  He thinks it's a game and will go back and forth "bonking" his head with another person.  I'm sure you can imagine that Isaac taught him this--ha!

He also still signs for eat, please, amen, more, and water.

Josiah has six BIG teeth that have really changed how he looks!  He is also getting a molar on the bottom.  He has moved up to Tiny Campers at church--of course, I cried his first week in there as I dropped him off.

Josiah has learned to float in his survival swimming lessons.  He loves swimming.  As we walk toward the pool, I'll ask him, "Do you want to go swimming?"  He always nods his head vigorously and signs "please."  We also swim at my parent's house a lot, and he loves going down the slide.

You can see in this picture from my mom's birthday that Josiah got an awful black eye a few weekends ago.  We received a lot of comments on it wherever we went for about a week.

I love how he sleeps with his little feet crossed & tucked!

Josiah loves to crawl and stand on top of the ottoman both at our house and my parent's house.  He waits until someone notices him and is so proud himself!

You can see in this picture how light his hair is getting!

Look at this precious smile!  We all love this baby boy so, so much!
